Spring 2026 Season
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
With the exception of the umpires, Spirit is completely run by volunteers. We know that not all parents have the time or experience to coach a team, therefore we ask that parents give the league a six hours of their time to help make the season a success. Volunteer opportunities include: coaching, snack shack, field maintenance/prep, team parent, board member, opening day, closing ceremonies, picture day, etc.
The Spirit of Morgan Hill 2026 Recreational Season, volunteer deposit fee is $200 per family, refundable after six hours have been completed and verified by the Spirit Volunteer Coordinator. Families with multiple siblings will only need to complete six hours total per family (not per player).
All volunteers will be required to complete a minimum of two of the six volunteer hours in the snack shack/or league level. Exceptions will be made for Team Coaches and Team Parents.
**If you prefer not to complete the volunteer hours, the buyout option is $200 for all divisions.
A volunteer deposit of $200 will be charged at the time of registration. This deposit will be returned upon completion of volunteer hours.
PLAYING WITH FRIENDS/SIBLINGS
By default, all siblings in the same division will be placed on the same team. If you would prefer siblings to be on separate teams, please email Micki@spiritofmh.org immediately after registration.
Friend Requests are handled differently at each division:
- 6U - You will have the opportunity to make a request to play with ONE friend during registration.
- 8U - Teams will be created to have balanced rosters. Each player may indicate ONE friend request during registration that must be mutual.
- 10U and Up - Friend requests are not taken in these divisions. Balanced teams are formed after the evaluation clinics in January.
- ***Due to team formation difficulties, there may be situations that friend requests may not be possible. If a player requests to play up a division, friend requests will not be accepted.
EQUIPMENT
Each player is expected to provide their batting helmet (with facemask), glove, fielding mask (suggested), softball cleats, and bat. Based on feedback from prior seasons, we will no longer include black pants with the uniform. Pants will need to be purchased if you don't already have them.
We do have a limited supply of donated equipment available to our families and will have an Equipment Swap day where you can see what we have available from other Spirit families.
We will also share coupons for Dick's Sporting Goods closer to the start of the season for your pre-season purchasing needs!
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
We offer rec softball for all ages from 6 and under, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U.

PLAYING UP A DIVISION
If you would like your player to play up a division due to competitive reasons, please select that option during the registration process. The Spirit of Morgan Hill Softball Board/Division Rep will make the final division determination after the player evaluation clinics in January.
(No players are allowed to play down a division.)
*Note - If playing up a division is a higher fee, your credit card on file will be charged the cost of the higher division once placed on a team.
PAYMENT PLAN/SCHOLARSHIPS
We, at Spirit of Morgan Hill Softball, believe that everyone should have an opportunity to play softball, regardless of financial status. There is a payment plan option available through the registration form. Through the payment plan, the registration fees will be broken down into three payments with the first due at registration and each additional payment due on 12/6/2025 and 1/14/2026. If you need additional financial assistance in order to participate in the league, please contact Micki@spiritofmh.org for application information. Please allow at least 2 weeks prior to the registration deadline for scholarship approval.
